My Life as a Panda -book app for the iPad
Art by Tom Antonishak, written by Dale Wildman v1.0
This second in Tom Antonishak’s critically-acclaimed Life Begins series focuses on the Giant Panda, one of the most endangered animal species in the world. My Life as a Panda paints a shocking, true-to-life portrait of just how few pandas are left in our world, and points up some of the wonderfully humane efforts underway right now to save our beloved “rare bear.” As with his first work in this series, Life of an Eagle, Antonishak utilizes the writing skills of popular children’s author Dale Wildman to tell the story through the eyes and “voice” of the animal itself, with a lively, witty style certain to appeal to animal lovers ages 8 to 80 and beyond. Known for creating incredibly-detailed paintings and sculptures based on extensive, hands-on research, Antonishak brings that same dedication and detail to this inspiring graphic novella, along with his incredible knowledge of animal life and habits, wild and domestic. His award-winning illustration style bring a remarkably apt and compelling feel to the natural habitat, intriguing life span and common experiences of this unique bear species. Readers will be pleased to learn that the work is also available in a “read-to” format, with the ‘panda’ himself telling his story. In commenting on the distinct pleasure he takes in working on the Life Begins series, Wildman remarked that, “Tom’s engaging illustrations and fact-based stories emphasize the very real danger our endangered species find themselves in, and help us all find a place and a part to help save these rare animals for future generations to enjoy.”

Vampire Sketch
As absolutely horrendous horror goes, so do terrible tales. . . so flies folklore’s fear. In Romania, Eastern Europe and where Greece is the word, the word was vampir and Vampyre. The result? Mass hysteria. Superstition unearthed, as if from the dead. And it spread. And it fed. The feeding frenzy subsisted by nefarious beings taking bite and sucking the life essence of living creatures. Vampyres or Vampires are revenants (French word for “returning”), visible ghosts or corpses of evil returning from the grave to terrorize the nearby living. Their bite is definitely worse than their lark for while roaming from bloody sucking feasts, their malevolent spirit can possess a corpse or create a whole new vampire from one telltale bite.
In faraway lands, everyone was telling these tales and telling ‘em swell. In the early 19th century, author John Polidori’s The Vampyre told of a charismatic sophisticated cool dude vampyre of fiction. Inspiration begets inspiration and author Bram Stoker dug up the quintessential Dracula from there. You might say he struck his stake into fear-filled details of Vlad Draculea. The rest . . . as they mumble low, is history.
But with your Monstrous App in hand, you can create history’s mystery! Go ahead! Let it fly! Like that diabolical cloak? Ah, more than just gloom in your room -- this prop added flair to fear’s flare when Dracula the sensation appeared on stage and screen. You see, (or you don’t), it made it easier for him to disappear. Watch your screen now. Hear your scream now. Make your Vampire appear as your mood digs him up. Have fun. Clean up any blood drippings, will you?
Leprechaun CS
Leprechauns usually take the form of old men who enjoy partaking in mischief. According to legend you can find their pot of gold at the end of a rainbow. If anyone keeps their eye fixed upon one, he cannot escape. Only if your gaze is withdrawn or if you look away, he can vanish without a trace, taking his treasure with him.
Most tales and stories of leprechauns portray them as generally harmless creatures although mischievous and they loves to play tricks on unsuspected victims.
Perhaps you have seen one of these wealthy spirited little Irishmen. Could it of been during the last St. Patrick Day celebration. When it comes time to describe what he looks like to your non-Irish friends, now you can use “Leprechaun Composite Sketch” to just that.
Simply touch each composite and drag it onto the face to complete your sketch. Just be careful not to blink or he just may disappear forever and take his pot of gold with him.
Cheers!
